Press release from: Clarion Events Deutschland GmbH

Advisory Board and Task Force provide decisive impetus

[Bad Salzuflen, 22 April 2016] Plans and preparations for the first supplier fair of the year in 2017 are already in full swing following the event in 2016: Having conducted intensive discussions with the exhibitors, visitors and trade associations, trade show organiser Clarion Events Deutschland has further modified the concept for the 23rd ZOW and presented it at the venue "Haus der Verbände" in Herford this week. Now shortened to three days, the supplier fair will be held from 7 to 9 February 2017 and has new and attractive packages on offer, which mean savings of 10 to 25 per cent for the exhibitors. "Both the ZOW Advisory Board and the Task Force are confident that the conceptual design of the show is in line with the needs of the market and have given the go ahead", says Senior Project Consultant Udo Traeger. "We have thus laid the foundations for a sustainable show, providing the industry with a work platform in Europe's largest furniture cluster East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL)."

The decision has been taken: The forthcoming ZOW will be opening its doors as usual in the first half of February, whereby parking, admission, cloakroom services and the catalogue will remain free of charge. What is new about the event is that it will take place over three days in the future. By doing so, Clarion Events has responded to the changing demands made on trade shows and will now be able to comply with the wishes and requirements of the exhibitors and trade visitors. Moreover, the trade show organiser has put together five new packages of offers, ranging from 15 to a maximum of 90 square metres, with a fixed price for all types of booth.

ZOW to become more compact
"In addition, we are seeking to place greater emphasis once more on the special workshop character of the show as a venue for discussing relevant issues on all aspects of innovative products and further developments as well as a location where business can be initiated and deals can be finalized", explains Udo Traeger.
Clarion Events Deutschland wishes to raise the potential offered by the location of OWL whose distinguishing feature is the abundance of highly productive business partnerships: This does not only mean the even greater involvement of the universities and research institutes situated here in the future. It is also necessary to identify innovative start-ups and cooperation projects which can also be the focus of the individual ZOW formats. At the same time, the plan is to approach a larger number of smaller companies which will attract greater attention at ZOW, thereby expanding the network in targeted fashion. "We have planned even more measures beyond 2017. In the longer term, for instance, we wish to develop and expand new sector-related segments in order to provide the trade visitors with a complete overview of the market."

"The occupation of the halls is also among the new features of the show, which will start with the centrally located Hall 20 next year", remarks team leader Dietmar Schöner. "The more compact layout does not only ensure shorter distances at the fair but also makes it possible to create and open and inviting booth design – even in the case of smaller stands." Furthermore, Clarion Events will be continuing its pursued course of modernisation in the exhibition halls as well by completely converting the ceiling system to LED lighting. Combined with the new, dark tensioned ceiling and wall-to-wall carpeting in the same colour, ZOW will shine in new splendor in the future, creating a more luxurious appearance in which both the exhibitors and their products can be showcased to even greater effect.
