Papa Johns Delivers a New Location to Edgewood, Washington

Ordering pizza for a birthday party, family night, or a football game will soon be more convenient for residents of Edgewood, Washington. Papa Johns is opening a new location on Meridian Avenue next to O'Reilly Auto Parts.

With origins dating back to 1999 when they opened the first Papa Johns in the region, the ownership group behind the new Edgewood location has solid roots in the South Sound.

"We're from here," says Matt Edwards, Franchise Owner and Tacoma, Washington native. "We grew up here, and we've been serving pizza here for over 20 years."

Edwards was the General Manager of the first Papa Johns in the Puget Sound. Now, the company he's part of has twenty-five Papa Johns restaurants, with the new Edgewood location making twenty-six.

It's also a family business. Dave Edwards, Franchise Owner and the brother of Matt Edwards shares, "My life's work is Papa Johns. It's not only my career, it's who I am."

Local ties run deep for the Edwards brothers, and also for their co-owner, Jesse Smith.

Smith began his career with Papa Johns as a delivery driver in Kent and has worked his way up to becoming a Franchise Owner. "It's incredible to be part of a company with such strong values, and to share that with our team members," says Smith. "We are always excited to hire talented new team members and give them an opportunity to grow with us, like I did." This new Papa Johns location will support the Edgewood community with 25 new jobs.

The Edgewood Papa Johns restaurant is celebrating their grand opening with several special offers including a large 1-topping pizza for $8.99 and the chance for 10 Papa Rewards members to win free pizza for a year.

The restaurant opens on Friday, December 29, 2023, and is located at 505 Meridian Avenue East, Suite B, Edgewood, WA 98371.
