JazzJoyandRoy.com Exclusive: Arizona Handyman Harassed, Assaulted

An eyewitness report obtained by Jazz Joy and Roy Global Radio describes how a handyman was recently harassed and assaulted in The West Valley area of Arizona.

Fred Fuller (name changed to protect privacy) told Jazz Joy and Roy, "I live alone, I don't talk to my neighbors. I live in a condo of four-plexes, there are probably four of them. I've talked to one guy. (One day) I had my garage open and he came over and asked me about my roof. That was two years ago."

Fuller said he recently "hired a handyman to come over and do my roof. The handyman comes over, gets on my roof and is power washing my roof to get all the leaves and dirt off the roof before he puts silicone on a flat roof. Well, this neighbor sees (the handyman) up on my roof and it upsets him. So (the neighbor) comes over and starts yelling at the handyman."

According to Fuller the neighbor yelled comments like, "Why are you up on that roof" and "you don't know what you're doing" and "you contractors like to rip off these people in (The West Valley)!"

The neighbor went on to yell-tell the handyman, "I've been a union guy for 40 years and you're using the wrong products."

The handyman reportedly countered, "I'm not a contractor, I'm just up here helping a friend out."

The neighbor proceeds to come into Fuller's courtyard, climb up the ladder and get on the roof.

Fuller said the neighbor goes over and looks at the products and repeats, "You're using the wrong products, you're not supposed to be painting these roofs!"

The handyman explained to the neighbor, "That's not paint, it's silicone and this is what you put on roofs when they're flat."

The neighbor begs to differ, shouting, "You don't know what you're doing!"

The handyman announces, "Well, I'm gonna go back to power washing, why don't you get off the roof."

The neighbor continues to argue for a while before finally climbing down the ladder. The neighbor proceeds to pick up a rock that is probably 6 inches in diameter and throws it at the handyman, who reacts quickly enough to block the rock with his power washer…."
