Press release from: Datamax-O'Neil

State-of-the-art printing solution for enhanced cost efficiency and higher productivity laser printer replacement

BOURG-LÈS-VALENCE, FRANCE – Datamax-O’Neil, a leading manufacturer of stationary, vehicle mount, portable label and receipt printers, will launch its latest printer innovation in EMEA on December 1, 2014: The new H-8308p is an extremely adaptive 8-inch thermal printer based on the proven H-Class and Performance Series technology offering increased label options, improved productivity and reduced costs. Datamax-O’Neil’s high quality H-8308p is compatible with PCL5 and PCL6 standard print languages and offers easy and reliable ERP and SAP integration. Furthermore, the printer provides an embedded open source LINUX operating system and a unique Managed Print Service (MPS) support.

“The H-8308p is the first thermal printer on the market that truly supports Managed Print Services for an active management and optimisation of document use and output,” explains Christian Bischoff, Regional General Manager EMEA at Datamax-O’Neil. “This unique solution in the market gives IT managers the ability to track service and supplies for increased efficiency in their workflow and an unparalleled total cost of ownership making it an ideal solution for reliable high volume printing.”

Thanks to its 8-inch format, the H-8308p can print A4 labels covering a wide range of labels, tags and documents – an optimal replacement for laser printers. Since thermal printing is four to five times more energy efficient than laser printing, enterprises can even further reduce their total cost of ownership. Moreover, the H-8308p offers one of the most feature rich solutions and is twice as fast as other printers in its class.

The H-8308p has been designed for a wide range of applications – from asset tracking to work-in-progress and agency labels to window and door as well as instruction labels in industrial manufacturing, pharmaceutical applications, drum and chemical labeling, transportation and logistics as well as food and beverage. With its broad selection of connectivity options the H-8308p meets diverse application requirements and can be easily integrated into any network. The modular, rugged construction increases uptime for the highest levels of user productivity. Thanks to its gear-driven design with precision die-cast aluminum frame the H-8308p works reliably even under more extreme industrial conditions.

Datamax-O’Neil has first launched the H-8308p at Pack Expo International 2014 (Chicago, USA) in November. The printer attracted wide interest of the trade show visitors and met with a very positive response.
