Licence to Clean 001 in Kamala, Phuket

Licence to Clean 001 in Kamala, Phuket

Oceans For All Foundation is pleased to announce that they have been invited by the French Embassy in Bangkok to present their coastal cleaner catamaran, Licence to Clean. This initiative was developed by the foundation with the goal of collecting floating plastic from the ocean before it breaks down into microplastics and is consumed by marine life. The catamarans are crewed by local captains and all trash collected is sorted and sent to recycling plants with the help of local communities. The French embassy's support of this project is greatly appreciated, as it is the first of its kind and is making a significant impact in reducing the amount of plastic in our oceans. The catamarans collect an average of 300-400 liters of trash every week, which helps to keep the beaches clean for tourists and support the livelihoods of local communities. The boat is made of high-density polyethylene thermoplastic, a recyclable material that is commonly collected during beach clean-ups. The foundation hopes that this initiative will inspire other businesses and corporations to support their efforts to protect the environment.

The foundation actually runs 4 mains projects
- Teamsea garden project where we grow and repopulate seagrass to expend the seagrass meadow which play an essential role and absorb 35 times more CO2 than any land plant.
- Shark nursery project, our shark nurseries successfully raised and released over 200 sharks every year around Phuket to help repopulate the reefs
- Educ Oceans which which we organize conferences and workshops for schools, hospitality industry and other corporations and bring awareness to say that the oceans produce 70% of the oxygen we breathe. If the ocean dies, we die. This is not just your future, but also the future of our children.
