Oscar construction equipment launched the Oscar range of plate compactors in Southern Africa

Johannesburg, South Africa - Goscor Power products, previously known as Goscor Engines and forestry, announced the launch of a new light construction equipment range (OSCAR) this week.

Goscor power products will be importing a new range of light construction equipment from Turkey, manufactured by the Oscar Makina group. The Oscar Makina group was established in 1964 (known as Aydin COMERT) in Turkey and started out manufacturing spare parts. Today Oscar Makina boasts with a 27 000 m2 factory near Esenboga airport and manufactures 53 different kinds of machines from Ride on Power Trowels, vibrating screeds, plate compactors, bull floats through to vacuum pumps. The factory manufactures 4800 high quality units per annum at this stage.

"Gocor power products will initially concentrate on importing the Oscar range of plate compactors, trowels and screeds with further development into the specialized ride-on trowels for the bigger construction sites in the second half of 2007." Says Justin Kitson, Manager at Goscor Power products.

The first two products in this range of plate compactors to be imported are the KM80 and the KMR100 plate compactors.

The KM80 plate compactors´ features include a centrifugal clutch, plate dimensions of 500 x 600mm, an operating speed of 28m/min and compaction area of 560-600 m2 /h. Asphalt kits are available as an optional extra.

The KMR 100 is a forward and reverse plate compactor. Features include a centrifugal clutch plate - dimensions of 510 x 700mm (710 x 700mm with extension plates) an operating speed of 25m/min and compaction area of 560-600 m2/h. Both plate compactors are fitted with Robin EX29 (9.0H) engines.
