FDM's First Full Veterans Class Receives Graduation Certificates

FEBRUARY 6 2013

FDM GROUP, NEW YORK – International IT services provider and winner of the Be a Hero-Hire a Hero Courage Award, FDM Group, graduated its first full class of military veterans today from its New York Academy, based at 14 Wall Street in the famous JP Morgan penthouse.

Affectionately known as the “Vet Squad”, FDM’s class of IT Consultants completed their three-month IT training finalizing their transition from national service to the civilian workplace.

FDM’s VP of North America, Brandt Rousseaux said, “I feel privileged to have had the pleasure of working with these fine men and women and I’m sure they will go on to do great things in their careers. As a retired Coast Guard Commander, it is important for me to give as much support as I can to our country’s heroes who have returned home.”

FDM’s US Academy Manager, Keith Dauris, added, “They are an incredible bunch of people who have served the country honorably and with great sacrifice. The best part of my role is helping people to start the next chapter of their lives and I know the future is bright for each and every one of them.”

The day saw the class presented with their official graduation certificates and concluded with networking. Joining them on their special day was Eric Tausch, Deputy Director of Communications for the US Marine Corps Division of Public Affairs.

FDM’s Veteran Program focuses on transforming qualified veterans into professional IT consultants. Using its unique business model, which combines quality IT training and two years of commercial employment, FDM provides IT enthusiasts the essential skills needed to transition to successful careers in the banking, financial services and media sectors.

FDM Academy Graduate and former Sergeant of the US Army Ali Aoun comments, “Receiving the certificate felt like I accomplished something huge. The program was challenging, but that's all part of the learning process. Attending this program meant I was able to add experience to my resume that will be respected by many employers. Joining FDM gave me the opportunity to transition careers and to train in a field I have never worked in.”

FDM is currently a vendor with the Department of Veteran Affairs under the Chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation and Education Program, and works closely with the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Services (VETS) and WorkForce1 centers within the tri-state area.
