i1connect News - Imperato Calls It Again: Arab League Delegation to Make Unprecedented Visit to Israel

Jerusalem –7/11/07 Today the Arab League announced that they will be sending a delegation to Israel this week for the first time in history.
The visit of the Arab League delegation to Israel is a sign of deep concern about the violent takeover of the Gaza Strip last month by the Islamic militant group Hamas.

Moderate Arab states want to push Israel to revive peace talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who heads a western-backed government in the West Bank . They believe that negotiations on the creation of a Palestinian state could prevent a similar takeover of the West Bank by Hamas.

The foreign ministers of Egypt and Jordan will visit Israel this week on behalf of the Arab League to discuss what is known as the Arab peace initiative. It calls for all Arab states to establish full diplomatic ties with Israel in exchange for a full Israeli withdrawal to the 1967 borders.

Israel rejects that demand because it would mean giving up Jerusalem's Old City and all West Bank settlements. However Israeli officials have openly stated that the Palestinian state conflict can be resolved with negotiation.

Since 2005, one man has been calling for the Arab League to play a larger role in establishing peace in the Middle East region; that man is 2008 US Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato.

Back November of 2005, Daniel Imperato laid out his peace plan for Israel and Palestine. During that release he stated, " I once again call on the Arab League to hold a conference with the leaders of all organizations and all countries to sit down and to treat one another with mutual respect and try to understand what each other is trying to accomplish, for their organizations, their people, but most importantly for their very own children."

Imperato has supported a solution that would create a Palestinian state within the country of Israel that would be comprised of many states.

When interviewed on the matter of the historic Arab League visit, Imperato responded with the following, "First of all, it must be recognized that the Arab League is showing great diplomacy and great initiative in traveling to Israel. This is a major step for peace and I hope that all parties can sit at the table and come to a peaceful solution."

In addition, Imperato also offered himself to assist in the negotiations and felt that his knowledge of both Judaism and Islam would prove beneficial.

Also, this instance is not the first time that Imperato's advice has been taken or has proven correct. Imperato has also suggested special forces training, problems with North Korea, and has called for an Iraq cease-fire.

Imperato is currently on route to Washington D.C. to participate in a multiparty Presidential Candidate debate today at the National Press Club.
