Trail Distilling Gins Win Best in Show, Best in Class, and more at ASCOT Awards

PORTLAND, OR, July 2021 - Trail Distilling is excited to be part of the recently announced ASCOT Award winners. The Trillium Pink Pinot Gin took Best in Show, Best in Class, and Double Platinum, while the classic Trillium Gin won Platinum honors. The ASCOT (American Spirit Council of Tasters) Awards offer a non-partial panel of professional craft spirit judges the opportunity to taste some of the best spirits from around the world. With over 600 entries, only four spirits were chosen as Best in Show and Trillium Pink Pinot Gin is one of them.

Using their flagship Trillium Gin as the foundation, Trail Distilling sources local Oregon Pinot Noir barrels to begin resting the gin for two months. Trillium Gin’s fourteen botanicals are enhanced with the subtle nuances of Oregon pinot noir, creating a truly one-of-a-kind range of floral and soft juniper flavors.

Collaborating with local wineries to ensure Trail Distilling’s commitment to true Pacific Northwest flavors, the Trillium Pink Pinot Gin embodies a genuine expression of Oregon craft production. By only filling freshly used pinot noir barrels that have not had the recently aging wine steamed away, Trail Distilling infuses notes of toasted oak and soft vanilla into the peppery botanicals.

Currently available in the Trail Distilling tasting room as well as local liquor stores, the 90-proof artisanal gin is quickly becoming a favorite among gin enthusiasts and tasting room visitors alike.

Since releasing the premium Trillium Pink Pinot Gin, it has received a bevy of accolades and awards. Winning Gold at the New York International Spirits Competition and Double Gold SIP Northwest Awards “Best of the NW”, Trail Distilling’s wine barrel adventure has proven to be a successful one.

Not to be overshadowed, Trillium Gin has garnered its fair share of international attention by winning a Gold Medal at the Asia International Spirits Competition and a Gold Medal at the Sunset Magazine International Spirits Competition. It has also been named one of The Fifty Best Gins in the World.

Trail Distilling is active within both the local and distilling communities. They offer guidance and support for start-up distillers and contract distilling.
