WINAICO becomes one of the first module manufacturers to receive OHSAS certification
Creglingen, 15th May 2012 – In March 2012 Win Win Precision Technology Co., Ltd. was certified according to OHSAS 18001:2007. The abbreviations OHSAS stands for “Occupational Health And Safety Assessment Series” This certification constitutes the international standard for occupational safety measures.

The first sustainability reports were published around 10 years ago. Companies avowed to pursue a corporate policy with long-term focus in relation to themes such as ecology. At that time the sociological and economic aspects essential to sustainable actions were being “overlooked”. OHSAS 18001:2007 is indispensible for sustainably operating companies, indeed it constitutes the minimum protection of employees and the optimum compliment to ISO 14001, which obligates responsible ecological actions.
In some markets, such as Italy, it is already mandatory for manufacturers to present this certificate in order to receive relevant subsidy support.

The standard supports companies in the identification and monitoring of all relevant risks, which may arise in normal and unscheduled operations. The development and structuring of OHSAS 18001 was largely aligned with ISO 14001, whereby the focus of OHSAS 18001 lies on personnel protection whilst ISO 14001 is aligned towards environmental preservation. The elementary working foundations of both standards are formed by a risk analysis with hazard assessment.

In addition to constituting an expression of commitment to the protection of personnel, property and operational premises, the introduction of OHSAS 18001 also results in the optimum integration of occupational safety into the company orientation. As such, the entire working culture improves with the consistent reduction in accidents and production downtimes through improved communication and controls in critical areas.
