First Baptist Lafayette

First Baptist Lafayette is offering four support groups beginning January 22.

GriefShare is for those who are grieving the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. In small group discussions participants interact with others who have experienced a recent loss, and learn from their experiences. Each session includes a video with dramatic reenactments about living with grief, real-life stories from people who have experienced losses, or encouragement from experts on grief recovery.

DivorceCare is for those who are going through the pain of a separation or divorce. The group is led by others who understand the feelings and emotions following a divorce, and who are able to offer encouragement. In DivorceCare people learn to deal with the
past and look forward to rebuilding their lives.

DivorceCare for Kids helps children heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. Designed for ages 5-12, each session combines games, story time, dvd dramas, group discussion, music, crafts, and more. Children are engaged and active while participating in a DivorceCare for Kids group. Children make friends with other kids who understand the things they are going through because of the divorce of their parents.

These groups will meet beginning January 22 each Sunday at 4:00 p.m. for 13 weeks.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-step program to help with the hurts, habits, and hang-ups of life. Celebrate Recovery has separate groups for men and women who are chemically dependent, as well as groups for those who are struggling with codependency. A group is also offered for women who have been impacted by abuse as adults or as children.

Celebrate Recovery is an on-going weekly ministry and groups meet each Sunday at 4:45 p.m. For more information on any of these groups call 338-593-3664 during office hours or visit www.fbclaf.org.
