Press release from: Red Oak Soccer Association

Inaugural Spring 2020 Season

Red Oak, March 9, 2020 - On today's date, the Red Oak Soccer Association along with the City of Red Oak, after 12 years of Red Oak teams playing home soccer games in Glenn Heights and Waxahachie, have come to an agreement allowing the Red Oak Soccer Association to play home games within the city of Red Oak.

Beginning this Spring Season, with a start date of March 21st, 2020, all Red Oak Soccer Association home games will be played in the City of Red Oak. Our temporary home fields will be located at the old Junior High Football Stadium, 200 Live Oak Street, Red Oak, 75154.

For the first season, there will be a total of 4 soccer fields on that parcel of land, with 2 of those fields to be multi-purposed into smaller playing fields if the need arises.
"This is a big day for Red Oak and the start of, what we hope to be, a long term relationship between the City of Red Oak and the Red Oak Soccer Association," says Josh Roman, President of the Red Oak Soccer Association. "We are very excited to see the changes the City has made and is making for the kids of Red Oak to finally have fields we can be proud of and call our own."

Beginning this Fall, ROSA will host all U12 and under games at the new Oakmont Soccer Park complex that is currently under construction off of 342 across from Eastridge Middle School and the Live Oak field will be used strictly for our U13 players and up and will be shared with PeeWee Football as well.

"It is such a great honor to be able to have a place in Red Oak for the kids of Red Oak to call home. It is nice to have a partnership between the City and the Red Oak Soccer Association," says Kyle Kelley, Director of Parks and Recreation.

About The Red Oak Soccer Association:
Red Oak Soccer Association has between 375-475 players per season and plays two seasons per year, Spring and Fall. ROSA is a nonprofit 501c3 recreational soccer program consisting of an all-volunteer board and coaches that put in countless hours every year to further promote the game of soccer to all youth of our city. Players can start as early as 3 years old and play all the way through high school. Our main goal is to give the kids a safe environment to play the game they love, to teach them the fundamentals of team sports, and to provide them with an outlet where they can play and learn the game of soccer.
