Where to Ride Sydney MTB

Media Release, for immediate release

New ‘Where To Ride Sydney MTB’ Guidebook For Cyclists!

Recreational Mountain Biking in and around Sydney is an exciting and growing activity. It’s a fun and healthy way to enjoy beautiful native bush land that surrounds the city. Featuring 40 trails from Awaba in the north through to the Blue Mountains and Southern Highlands, Where to Ride Sydney MTB is a valuable resource for people searching for new places to ride and explore.

Author Erron Gardner spent over two years exploring hundreds of trails and mapping them with a GPS unit, fitted to his handlebars. His efforts have resulted in a magnificent new 216 page full colour guidebook. It includes accurate, full colour computer generated mapping that shows both contour lines and topographical shading. The route colour denotes what type of trail will be found. Each ride has detailed directions, plus altitude profiles, Where to Ride ratings and IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) Trail Difficulty ratings.

There are rides suitable for novices looking to get started in mountain biking, through to more challenging rides that will test the skill and fitness of experienced riders. Glorious photography of riding through Sydney’s native forests and the spectacular views from many mountain top climbs will inspire would be cyclists to get out and ride. There is plenty of pristine Sydney bush land to explore by bike if you know where to look, even within the metropolitan area, such as Lane Cove and Manly Dam, which are both featured.

In addition to the print version, an e-book version is available with an iPhone app to follow.

Where to Bike Sydney MTB will be officially launching on Tuesday 2nd August. Author Erron Gardner and Publisher Phil Latz will be available for interviews anywhere in Sydney throughout that day. For hi res images and other information, please email fyona@bicyclingaustralia.com or phone (02) 4274 4884.

About Erron Gardner

Erron runs an aerial photography and survey business by day, but his weekend passion is exploring Sydney’s mountain bike trails. Like many Australians, Erron rode bikes as a kid, then rediscovered cycling as an adult when he needed to regain fitness after a few years away. Erron lives in Oatley with his wife and their trail dog extraordinaire.
