The history of school furniture at RE Batger
In 1956 when Robert Menzies was Prime Minister and Melbourne had the Olympics, RE Batger began manufacturing educational furniture for Australian schools. Classrooms were quite different back then to what they are now.
Desks had ink wells, computers were obviously not invented And air conditioning was nowhere to be seen. We have certainly come a long way since then.
At RE Batger we have been through this evolution of the Australian classroom and continue to be leaders in our field.
Last year was the BER. One of the positives that came out of BER was that it gave us a strong insight into the needs and demands of the contemporary educational space.
