Mesriani Law Group Secures Settlement for Wrongfully Terminated Employee

Press release from: Mesriani Law Group
Los Angeles – Expert employment and labor law attorneys of Mesriani Law Group, one of the leading law firms in Los Angeles and southern California, have successfully represented and obtained more than $55,000 as settlement for a wrongful termination claim of a dismissed employee.

The employee worked as a bank teller and later got promoted as supervisor. Her tasks include training and teaching other tellers on proper bank procedures and policy. Her main work is aimed at controlling losses and conducting audits.

Over the years, she performed her duties responsibly and diligently. She was commended by both colleagues and clients. She served her employer for 24 years and her performance evaluations were always good.

But before her termination, she received written notices on at least two occasions for procedural mistakes and infractions she had allegedly committed. During that time, the bank was under new management.

Months before her termination, she noticed that she was treated differently by her colleagues. After that, she experienced a series of harassment and discriminatory acts, which she believed was aimed at forcing her to leave her job. She learned later that former employees who were her age had similar experiences and were all terminated or forced into early retirement despite their good performance and experience.

In January 2010, she received a termination letter from the manager. She was fifty-seven years old.

Fortunately, she wasted no time and immediately sought the assistance of experienced employment lawyers of the Mesriani Law Group. After evaluating the case, the skilled attorneys found the employer in violation of federal and state laws on wrongful termination, discrimination based on age, and harassment.

With the timely and effective representation of Mesriani Law Group, the employer was forced to go into mediation and settle the case with the victim.
