History-making 'I AM EQUAL' photo project make stop in Idaho Falls on 25-MAY-2011.

Idaho Falls, ID - 16-MAY-2011 - In a last-minute addition to the record-breaking 'I AM EQUAL' photo world tour, event coordinators have added a stop in Idaho on 25-MAY-2011 at The Red Lion Hotel in Idaho Falls. This schedule change will allow participation in this historic project to hundreds of local residents who are willing to step in front of the camera of international fashion photographer Matt Spencer and take a photo for the issues and causes they support in the community and around the world.

"We're very excited to be bringing the 'I AM EQUAL' project to Idaho, and showcase the compassionate work that is being done by people from all walks of life to improve our communities, and protect the most vulnerable among us," explains project founder Jason Beckett. "Too often, smaller cities like Idaho Falls are overlooked for projects of this magnitude, but we believe the work and compassion of this community deserves as much recognition as any other city, big or small."

Participation is free and open to the public so that individuals, families, friends, coworkers, clubs, groups, and organizations can use this historic project to showcase the issues that are facing our communities as well as the work that is being done to make a difference for the cause.

"Participants are shining a light on a host of issues when they step in front of my camera," explains project co-founder and photographer Matt Spencer. "Some are taking a stand for women's rights or ending domestic violence, while others may be protecting children or fighting for legal reform. There are individuals representing mental and physical disabilities, and others who are working for conservation and environmental causes. All of these and countless more will come out to be part of history and help us break the world record for the largest photo project, ever."

While there are countless issues and causes the 'I AM EQUAL' project has come to represent, the real purpose of the campaign is to celebrate the people who are making our communities better. Photos will be taken from 4:00pm until 9:00pm and require less than 5 min. from start to finish. Anyone can get a photo by coming to the event with a brightly colored shirt and a passion to help break the world record and be part of history. The project is open to all ages but participants younger than 18 will need a parent or guardian present to complete the registration process.

"We're excited to include Idaho Falls in this project and see the community come forward to make history and show the world what they stand for," says Beckett. "In the end, these photos will come to represent the passion and commitment of this community and show that small cities can still make a big impact for the world."

ABOUT THE 'I AM EQUAL' PROJECT

The I AM EQUAL PROJECT was created by Jason Beckett and fashion photographer Matt Spencer in an effort to empower individuals to speak out about the causes that inspire them. The project goal is to capture more than 100,000 photos of people from all walks of life with the “I AM EQUAL” logo emblazoned on the palm of their hand as a symbol of their commitment to stand up for their rights, and the rights of others around the world. Ultimately, all the photos will be gathered together to create the world's largest photo mosaic composed of 2in. photo tiles and covering more than 8,000 sq/ft.
