Sponsor A Mother For Mother's Day

1 April 2011 - Love Is All We Need is calling for people to sponsor a mother this Mother’s Day. Donations will go towards mobile mothers in South Africa, caring for the thousands of HIV/AIDS orphans in the poorest and most vulnerable communities.

Love Is All We Need supports mobile mothers in the Sweetwaters community near Pietermartizberg, South Africa. There are over 6,000 orphans in this struggling community, and in some cases children as young as eight are left to run their households, and look are their younger siblings.

The Hope Centre in Pietermaritzberg, one of the projects supported by Love Is All We Need, runs training programs for mobile mothers so that they are equipped to go out into the community and offer support to the orphaned children. One mobile mother can reach hundreds of children, offering them the only motherly love they have left in their lives.

Mobile mothers provide:
• Access to food, clothing and school uniforms
• Introductions to healthcare programmes where necessary
• Assistance obtaining child grants and school subsidies
• Monthly training/fun days for child-headed households
• Psycho-social support

Money is urgently needed to train more mobile mothers so that they can be deployed into the community and offer desperately needed love and support to the thousands of AIDS orphans still left without support.
