JD Bug launches a new marketing campaign at Nuremberg Toy Fair and Munich ISPO trade shows to reposition brand with an exciting line of new fun mobility products

Nuremberg/Munich, February 2011 - JD Bug, the brand that sparked a major trend in fun mobility with the aluminum kick scooter, is unveiling an innovative line of products as well as a new marketing campaign at two press conferences held at the Nuremberg Toy Fair and Munich ISPO.

The “Cool Carver” and the 2011 iF product award-winning “First Bike” highlight the company’s new range of products at the European trade fairs. The company is furthermore announcing plans for a consumer focused advertising and marketing campaign to better support the brand at retail.

The “Cool Carver”– A new way to glide on three wheels
The “Cool Carver” is a new scooter that implements a streamlined and dynamic design to give the illusion of flying or surfing on three wheels. It is designed for optimal control in turning and stability with its wide base and solid aluminium alloy handlebar. The base is comprised of two wheels in the back and one directly below the handlebar. The back two wheels rotate 360 degrees to accommodate a quick change of direction or to navigate through obstacles.

“First Bike“ wins coveted 2011 iF product design award
The “First Bike” uses a simple and clear design approach that makes it the winner of the coveted 2011 iF product design award. The “First Bike” is made of two carefully molded components that are securely joined at the front of the bike.

It’s lightweight design and simple frame uses rounded edges, making it safe for children over the age of three as an introduction to the world of mobility. Children play while improving their sense of balance when riding the “First Bike.”

Cross media campaign to strengthen retail presence
Combining a new corporate identity and an extensive marketing campaign, JD Bug plans to strengthen the brand at retail. A TV ad campaign will highlight the “Cool Carver” in the German and French markets. Other PR and promotional efforts will be used to increase awareness and appeal. JD Bug will also further develop its retail presence by extending sale responsibilities to its European office based in Frankfurt, Germany.
