Press release from: 3000 Records

Beginning his musical career when he was only 16, Eric Roberts was highly influenced by Brazilian guitar and musical culture. An accomplished Guitarist, Bassist, and Composer, Roberts’ most recent EP release titled “My Brazilian Heart” is a wonderfully tailored 6 track release. Being well-traveled and culturally diverse adds the right amount of mixture between styles and the familiarity of a wonderfully rounded experience.

Highlands Ranch, Colorado, January 28, 2011 – Having professionally been playing music since the age of 16, Eric Roberts has accumulated a large amount of esteem and notoriety among his fans and peers alike. Holding a B.A. in music from Ithaca College and a Masters in music from the University of Miami, he has been a part of Broadway shows and backed entertainers including Chuck Berry, The Drifters, Bob Hope, Joan Rivers, Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell, Danny Ganz, and many other great Artists.

His newest album released in 2009 titled “My Brazilian Heart” is a 6 song EP of Smooth Jazz and Brazilian compositions that encapsulate his accumulated travels and experiences during his lengthy stay in the music industry. Eric Roberts is accompanied on the new album by a talented group of instrumentalists that give his unique type of Jazz a full and increasingly layered dynamic.

Complete with a new backup band including Bassist and Producer Paul Avgerinos, Woodwind Specialist Bill Harris, Keyboardist Nick Bariluk, and Percussionist Barbara Merjan, the newly assembled group creates a full and layered sound backed by original ideas and musical prowess. Bridging gaps between Brazilian style guitar, Smooth Jazz, and Americana, “My Brazilian Heart” showcases a wide range of talent.

Eric Roberts wrote the songs for the new album while living in Geneva, Switzerland. He says “There was a small Brazilian music community and a great Brazilian club that I used to hang out and play at. Living in Geneva was a wonderful, but expensive experience and I truly loved the appreciation of music and art that was so prevalent there”. Finally satisfied with his recordings and accompanied by equal caliber musicians, Eric Roberts has broken new ground in his career. He has established himself as a prevalent force in Independent Music and Smooth Jazz.

“My Brazilian Heart” has been commonly described as a moody and accessible form of Smooth Jazz complete with sensual Latin rhythms with the right amount of bounce added. The chemistry displayed by the full ensemble mirrors that of a group that has been playing together for twenty plus years and has the type of rapport necessary to captivate any audience of any magnitude. Vibrant and fresh enough to breathe life into the genre of Contemporary Jazz, the album possesses the musicianship and accessible content one can only expect from an Artist who has explored a number of different musical avenues.

The album “My Brazilian Heart” is currently available at major online music vendors including CD Baby, Amazon, iTunes, Guitar9, eMusic, CDUniverse, Digstation, and other locations. Over the next 6 months look for Eric Roberts and his ensemble to perform at more concerts and festivals throughout the state of Colorado.
