Quarq Powermeter now available in Europe
XP Sport GmbH is now responsible for the distribution of the Quarq powermetersGermany, January 27, 2010- For professional and competetive cyclists a powermeter is a must- have, but also for amateur cyclists a power measuring system is becoming more and more important, because this system is the most proven method for training with consistency and quality. For years Quarq powermeters have been proven of value in the United States and in Canada, and the powermeter is now for sale in Europe.
The use of a powermeter enables athletes to scientifically manage the specifics of their personal program, avoid overtraining, and assess and interpret reactions to a variety of training and racing stimuli.
The CinQo Saturn - the second generation of the Quarq powermeter is now available for sale. Five arms, each precisely instrumented in a (patent pending) arrangement and now connected by the "Ring of Saturn". Add in the ANT+Sport TM Bike Power Interface with the convenience of a user replaceable CR2450 battery. From spring 2011 an IPhone app will be available to calibrate the powermeter. This means that the athlete will be able to calibrate on his own.

Quarq was founded in June 2006 by James und Mieke Meyer in Spearfish, South Dakota and is specialised on powermeters. Since October 2010 XP Sport in Aachen, Germany is responsible for the distribution of the Quarq powermeters in Germany and Europe.
XP Sport GmbH is located in Aachen, Germany and specialised in sports medicine, performance diagnostics and distribution of sports products. The company has a wide experience in power measurement systems for cyclists, CEO Christoph Lörcks is one of the leading experts in performance- oriented training in Europe. As a consultant, he and his team are attending to the German national cycling team and the professional cycling team NetApp.
