Crestron Home Technology Products Win Two Electronic House 2011 Product of the Year Awards at CES

DigitalMedia 8G™ Cable and Sonnex™ Multiroom Audio System Receive Top Honors at CES Awards Ceremony

Leading consumer publication for tech-savvy home enthusiasts, Electronic House, announced the winners of the prestigious Product of the Year Awards at a special ceremony during the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Hundreds of products from a wide range of technology manufacturers were submitted for the highly anticipated Product of the Year Awards showcase. Crestron DigitalMedia 8G™ Cable and Sonnex™ Multiroom Audio System took home first place as the best of the best in their respective categories.

Crestron DigitalMedia 8G Cable, DM-CBL-8G-P, won for best product in the Structured Cabling Systems and Multimedia Cabling category. Part of a complete DigitalMedia solution, DM-CBL-8G-P is specifically engineered to provide a true single-wire high-performance cabling solution. DigitalMedia is designed for transporting all analog and HD digital content including HD/3D digital audio/ video, control, data, and Ethernet over a single low-cost copper wire - without any need for compression or repeaters.

Winner of best product in the Multiroom Audio category, the Sonnex 24X8 Multiroom Audio System transmits all 48 channels of audio and control signals long distances over a single wire. The all-in-one design saves rack space and significantly reduces cabling in the rack. For larger systems, audio expanders can be installed locally, rather than in the central rack. The only connection required back to the main rack is a single shielded CAT5-type cable.

"Crestron is proud to be recognized by Electronic House for our new generation of home technology products," said Crestron Director of Marketing, Vincent Bruno. "DigitalMedia 8G Cable and Sonnex Multiroom Audio System represent Crestron's continued efforts to create cutting-edge products that move our industry forward."

Electronic House recognizes the best products released each year in nearly 40 categories such as Audio Components, Displays, Lighting, Loudspeakers, Video Components and Processors, and Whole Home Controls. Winners were selected by a panel of industry experts, integrators and editors of Electronic House to join an exclusive group of products deemed the most noteworthy in the industry. Criteria include creativity, innovation, incorporated equipment, obstacles overcome, aesthetics, and lifestyle benefits.

As recipients of Products of the Year Awards, Crestron DigitalMedia 8G Cable and Sonnex 24X8 Multiroom Audio System are featured in the January/February issue of Electronic House and on the website for the entire year.
