EXASolution accelerates data analysis for retargeting e-commerce sites

Nuremberg, 14 December 2010 – Nuremberg company EXASOL AG has gained xplosion interactive GmbH as a new client. EXASolution, the high-performance database from EXASOL, constitutes the new centrepiece in the xplosion data warehouse. With EXASolution, the provider of customised retargeting services for e-commerce sites secures a sustainable competitive advantage through optimised processes.

xretarget, the quintessential product from explosion, is a further developed form of dynamically personalised retargeting. Dynamically personalised retargeting is based on the current search and purchasing behaviour of anonymous profiles. The profile is given a banner, which is individually supplemented by the illustration of previously viewed products. xretarget offers a decisive difference in quality: Data mining. As only those items are shown to the profile that mirror its current search and purchasing behaviour, repetitions occur: There are always the same or similar products in the unspecific banner. When determining the suitable product recommendation using data mining, information from the search and purchasing behaviour of all profiles is included. Statistical analyses categorise new target groups on the basis of congruent characteristics. For the individual profile this means: Fields of interest are extrapolated for the profile that have not been displayed in a ratio of 1:1 within the framework of profiling its search and purchasing behaviour. Thus, data mining breaks up the fixation on preset shopping categories and clears the vision for new sales potential. Thereby, each profile receives the banner that is optimally tailored to it in relation to content and appearance and that is also richly varied.
The data required for this is accumulated and evaluated in the xplosion data warehouse. Presently, the company, which belongs to the EOS Group and is thereby part of the international Otto Group, is working with data from several million anonymous retargeting profiles. On the basis of EXASOL's high-performance database, xplosion will be able to offer its clients quicker analyses in the future; on account of this increased speed, retargeting campaigns will not only be continually optimised, but e-business as a whole can be configured more successfully. In addition to this, EXASolution is scalable, i.e. it adapts its performance to the current data volume and can be easily enhanced with additional servers.
