Farmington Hills, MI, October 01, 2010 -- The Detroit chapter of TiE (Talent, Ideas, Enterprise) announced today that Bill Birdsall, CEO, president and chairman of MicroMed Cardiovascular, will deliver a keynote speech at TiECon Midwest 2010, Michigan’s largest Conference on entrepreneurship to be held Oct. 28 and 29, 2010 at The Henry, Dearborn.

Bill Birdsall joined MicroMed Cardiovascular, Inc. in October 2008 as President, CEO and Chairman. Birdsall is an attorney with a successful career starting and building businesses. In the 1970s he played a significant role in the establishment of Ticketmaster, Inc., as founding Executive Vice President of the team that built the company into a world leader in the entertainment industry.

Birdsall has also been a pioneer in the public real estate markets. He was Chairman, CEO & CFO of The Price REIT, a New York Stock Exchange company he co-founded in 1991 with retailer Sol Price and which is now part of Kimco Realty (NYS:KIM); was co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Host Funding, Inc., a public real estate investment company listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. He is also founding director and major shareholder of Sub-Crypto Systems, LLC, a software firm providing digital security systems to military and corporate clients. Birdsall has been a pioneer in promoting U.S. business activities in Asia, especially in the People’s Republic of China. He has served as legal counsel to the Interior Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives and to the Joint Oversight Committee for the Office of Technology Assessment, as well as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Arizona.
