CoSoSys Selected as 2010 Emerging Security Technology Vendor by CRN Magazine

07-08-2010 04:42 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: CoSoSys

Eagle, ID and Bucharest, Romania, July 8, 2010 - Endpoint security and data loss prevention solution developer CoSoSys has once again been included in CRN’s 2010 edition of the Emerging Security Vendors list. CoSoSys is the only European headquartered company to be included in this exclusive roundup of security vendors. This is the second year CoSoSys makes the CRN Emerging Security Vendors list. In 2009 the company was one of the up and coming security vendors, being included in the roundup of 2009’s 25 Coolest Emerging Vendors.

Founded in 2004, CoSoSys had a strong business focus on developing software for portable storage devices such as USB Flash Drives. Noticing the risks and threats posed by the improper use of such devices such as external hard drives, music players, USB sticks or digital cameras, the company launched a second business unit, which develops and markets endpoint security and data loss prevention (DLP) solutions that enable a secure corporate and personal working environment with portable storage devices.

“This second inclusion in CRN’s list comes as recognition of our channel building efforts and to keep innovating in the field of data and endpoint security. We are extremely pleased that our goals of keeping companies and individuals safe from portable device usage threats, adapting our solutions to their lifestyle and actual needs, while continuing to innovate and release cutting edge technologies have been both accomplished and rewarded by channel partners and end users,” said Roman Foeckl, CoSoSys CEO.

The company’s most popular endpoint security and DLP solution is Endpoint Protector, an application designed to minimize internal threats, reduce data leakage risks and control devices connected at Windows and Macintosh endpoints. It allows IT departments to proactively take control of the device internal use, while tracking all data transferred in or out of the protected network and enforcing encryption of data in transit on portable devices.

In 2009 CoSoSys launched the world’s first software as a service solution for device control and data security, My Endpoint Protector. This Web-based, cloud computing application makes enterprise-level device control and security accessible to even the smallest organizations without the need for expensive additional equipment or staff. Whether employees work from home, on the road or from remote locations, the security of their desktops and laptops can easily be centrally managed through the cloud.

Eligibility for the CRN Emerging Technology Vendor list is limited to companies that were founded in 2004 or later, have revenue under $1 billion and have an active U.S. channel strategy. Final selection to the Emerging Technology Vendors list was made by the CRN editorial team.
