(openPR) - Certification Furthers Wind River's Commitment to Offering Open Standard Solutions for the Aerospace & Defense Industry
Wind River announced that VxWorks 6.4 RTOS is the first operating system to achieve certification for conformance to the PSE52 Realtime Controller 1003.13-2003 Product Standard within the "POSIX: Certified by IEEE and The Open Group" certification program. POSIX, a family of standards developed by the Portable Applications Standards Committee of the IEEE Computer Society, enables access to integrated information within and between enterprises based on open standards and global interoperability. Greater levels of POSIX support enable code reuse and portability of third-party, open source applications to VxWorks and from VxWorks. Achieving this certification clearly demonstrates Wind River's commitment to open standards in its Device Software Optimization platform solutions.
VxWorks 6.4 with certification for conformance to the PSE52 1003.13-2003 Product Standard will be available December 2006 in the following Wind River VxWorks Editions 3.4: General Purpose Platform, Platform for Automotive Devices, Platform for Consumer Devices, Platform for Industrial Devices, Platform for Network Equipment, VxWorks 6.4, Perpetual.
