acontis technologies has released a version of its EtherCAT Master Real-Time Ethernet Stack adapted to Wind River’s VxWorks real-time OS. The EtherCAT Master Stack AT-EM for VxWorks is sup-plied entirely in source code and is adapted to the customers’ VxWorks version and processor architecture. Code is available for VxWorks versions 5.4 to 6.3. With AT-EM for VxWorks, companies that use VxWorks as an OS for their control technology will significantly reduce the integration time needed to switch to EtherCAT real-time Ethernet fieldbus technology. As a system integrator and specialist in the field of real-time networking and VxWorks, acontis also offers the option of tailoring the Master Stack to specific customer requirements and then integrating it into their system.
The EtherCAT Master Stack AT-EM for VxWorks enables all network drivers available in VxWorks to be used with EtherCAT. The out-of-the-box solution sup-ports the most important protocols defined in the Eth-erCAT specification such as cyclic process-data communication, mailbox communication, CANopen-over-EtherCAT (CoE) protocol and the XML-based configuration of the master. The distributed clocks and latching features can also be used for realising high-speed motion solutions.
