Varun Gandhi advocates Higher Spend on Research and Development

Excitement and Spirits were at an all time at the D. Y. Patil Campus in Navi Mumbai as they welcomed Varun Gandhi, Loksabha MP from Sultanpur. Also present on this occasion were Dr. Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil and Vijay D. Y .Patil.



Dr. Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil, Chairman, Ajeenkya D. Y . Patil Group, in his address expressed deep admiration for the body of social work undertaken by Varun Gandhi and his immediate family. He further gave a fascinating insight into the growing years of the D. Y. Patil Group and their trials and tribulations in an emerging economy and an evolving education system. He waxed eloquent on the need for innovation and urged the gathering to ride the technological revolution. He concluded by observing that a radical change in policies and outlook towards the education system is clearly the need of the hour.



Varun Gandhi enlightened a packed gathering at The D. Y. Patil Auditorium, Navi Mumbai on path breaking solutions for the progress of society and the nation. He laid special emphasis on an increased research and development spends for India. He opined that while India spends only 0.6 % of its GDP on Research and development , countries like South Korea and Israel spend nearly 5% of the their GDP on the same . He further added that even a smaller nation like Sri Lanka spends 5%. .



Varun Gandhi advised investors in start ups in India to be more patient and not have expectations of returns from day one. He added that all start ups in European nations and America have a gestation period of at least 10 years.
