What does Asia’s Biggest Lake Festival and a group of 8 enthusiastic people have in common?

Yes, they share a common roof with the Bloggers Bus 2.0, a second edition in the program initiated by Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), which is all set to venture to the much awaited 3 day, Asia’s biggest lake festival at Tehri.

The 5th in the series of Tehri Lake Festival, is being organized from the 25th
- 27th of May, 2018 and will be a host to many activities and sub-events including water sports, where visitors can indulge in activities such as boating, jet skiing, banana rides, water skiing, surfing, canoeing, river-rafting, paragliding, kayaking etc and aerial sports such as paragliding, hot air balloon, para-jumping. The Blogger’s Bus will be a part of this boisterous tour and will take all its passengers to experience the awe of this festival along with some hidden jewels in and around Tehri district. Apart from recording their experiences in Koti Colony at Tehri Lake Festival, the
travel bloggers will also get a chance to explore some of the exalted establishments including; Kunjapuri Temple, which is located at a height of 1676 metres and is a part of the 52 Shakti Peeths in Uttarakhand; Surkanda Temple, which is a famous shrine located near Kaddukhal, and a few more.

After the successful execution of the first edition from 16th – 20th May 2018 (which explored the hidden gems around Gangotri and Yamunotri - with 7 bloggers), the second edition of Bloggers Bus programme also aims to achieve the shared vision of waking up the wander-bug in people.
Just like first edition of Bloggers Bus, UTDB has chosen a few of the top Indian travel bloggers who have showcased some amazing creativity, talent and sense of adventure in their line of work. Anuradha Goyal from Goa, Oindrilla De from Mumbai, Shubam Manasingka from Jaipur, Divya Prasad from Manali, Antarik Anwesan from Odisha & Geetanjali Bannerjee, Soumendra Banerjee and Parnashree Devi from Delhi have appeared to show early signs of excitement already marked the beginning of their journey by documenting the experiences on the social media

“I am so looking forward to explore a lot about Tehri and Tehri Lake Festival. I left a piece of my heart in Uttarakhand, when I stayed there for about 2 years, so this trip is special and nostalgic to me” – said Gitanjali Bannerjee, a travel blogger from Delhi, who has been very active as a writer on her official blog, Travel by Karma, at www.writergitanjali.com and finds this medium,
the best way to reach out to people.

Hon’ble Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Satpal Maharaj says, “An early successive edition of the Blogger’s Bus will surely make a breakthrough, especially after the response we got from the first one. For Uttarakhand Tourism, Tehri Lake Festival holds an immense potential and opportunity for the state and we want these enthusiastic travel bloggers to encapsulate their
experience about trade, tourism and cultural potential of Tehri” Shri Dilip Jawalkar, IAS, Secretary Tourism added, “Tehri, a paradise for nature and adventure lovers, is a befitting destination to satiate the one of the cravings for travel – explore new experiences. The natural beauty with its charm yet overwhelming challenges, the otherwise quiet yet friendly hosts, architectural marvels, the mundane everyday loaded with multitude of possibilities- there is no dearth of experiences to savour as one travels in Tehri. These travel
bloggers are great influencers for the travel community and by inviting them to attend the Tehri Lake Festival, we want them to have the first hand experience so that they can communicate the potential of this ‘must visit destination’ with the rest of the world, through their travel blogs”

The bloggers bus, full of vibrant energy and vehemence, departed from Rishikesh at 0600 hours and is all set to create a bigger noise than before. Ready, set, row!
