(openPR) - Jackie Weiss, age 15, was invited by BMW USA to attend the two day Formula BMW License course in Valencia Spain (Circuit de la Comunitat, Valenciana Ricardo Tormo), run by BMW Motorsport.
Jackie has 2 years in karting where she was successful in several Championships (Gatorz Karting Cup, Champ Car Rotax Kart Challenge, XPlex Championship in Nevada, California, Indiana and Florida). She made recently the Skip Barber Racing Schools at the Las Vegas Speedway and at the legendary Road America Course in Wisconsin, where she had her first experience driving Formula Dodge and the R/T 2000.
Jackie Weiss was one out of fourty-two candidates selected for the initial license course that tested the driving skills, race theory, fitness and overall ability in a move from Karts to race cars for the 2007 season. Jackie’s high ability in Karts at a national level, success level to date and mature attitude soon came through into the race cars over the two days.
For the License Course, the Formula BMW Racing Center did provide training vehicles FB2 with BMW Engine 1171 cc, 4 cylinder 4 stroke (regulated catalytic converter), max. revs: approx. 8200 rpm, vmax: approx. 200 km/h, sequential 6-speed gearbox. The car weights 1001lbs (455 kg).
Without having the Drivers License yet Jackie again managed the Formula BMW Car very sovereign, showing that she definitely has the talent to be a race car driver.
