TRG International’s Commitment To The EU's General Data

Have you ever wondered how internet giants such as Google and Facebook are able to access your personal data? There is no doubt that the breach in personal privacy in this digital age where marketers collect reams of personal information from Facebook, Twitter, e-commerce sites and even emails to target potential buyers, is a huge concern. However, the power will shift towards consumers, thanks to the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that restricts how personal data is collected and handled.

What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

To be more specific, GDPR is a regulation that protects the privacy of all EU citizens. It addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. The GDPR aims primarily to give control back to the citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the policies for international businesses by unifying the regulation within the EU. This act was adopted on 27 April 2016 and now it becomes enforceable from 25 May 2018, after a two-year transition period.

GDPR also extends the scope of EU data protection law to all foreign companies processing data of EU residents. That means this law will protect individuals in the 28 member countries of the European Union, even if the data is processed elsewhere. As a whole, the GDPR brings a new set of "digital rights" for EU citizens in particular, and people from all over the world, in general in the era of the ever-increasing economic value of personal data.

TRG International would like to take this chance to confirm our compliance with these regulations. TRG International always respects your privacy.
