Chillizone Limited UK - Corporate Training Division successfully launched a workshop on “SEO / Internet Marketing” at Pearl Continental, Karachi in a bid to initiate the first Workshop of its kind in the country. The workshop was presented by Mr. Ausaf Ali Khan head of UK and PK SEO corporate training division and Mr. Asif Iqbal online marketing analyst, the event proved a success as the numbers attending were over anticipated levels, with capacity for 50, the number of delegates were around 65 over the two days. With majority of the participants coming from the Karachi, some even travelled from Lahore and the UK especially for the event. Government and private IT companies were amongst the attendees.
The event was full of useful and relevant information and it was not only to cater for large businesses but also to IT professionals. Chillizone realises that there is a huge scope for SEO as a profession and to business as well. The majority of the IT companies are focusing on web and software development but internet marketing is equally important to the IT industry and is not being utilised to its potential.
Internet marketing is not only a huge industry itself but it helps other industries and especially our local manufactures to promote their products worldwide in a cost efficient manner. More than 80% of American and Western European people use internet for searching and Pakistani companies are sadly no where in major search engines in comparison to Indian and Chinese companies, as a result they have majority of the business.
During the presentation there were few very sensitive issues discussed, such as the call for greater Government and lobby groups to action growth of Internet marketing industry in Pakistan. The country is currently losing great revenue in foreign trade which is being bypassed to other neighbouring countries.
“SEO industry is a thriving and mature market worldwide but still in its infancy stage in Pakistan, this is resulting in a loss of revenue and field specialism where the need for this will become greater, almost mandatory in years to come, but it may too late to perform a comeback then. It is imperative that someone takes an initiative now and stimulates growth” came a statement from Mr. Ausaf Ali Khan
