(openPR) - (Dublin, SoF, 20.07.2006) Today the management of Stories of Faith Ltd. in Dublin has appointed Bassam Tibi, a professor at Cornell University (USA) and Georg-August-Universität (Germany) for the company’s advisory board. The Irish media firm will conduct a project on the large world religions, featuring an internet portal, books, games, and feature films for movie theatres and television.
Bassam Tibi is a political scientist of Syrian origin with German citizenship. He is one of the founders of the Arab Organization for Human Rights (AOHR).
He is involved in Islam-Jewish dialogue and the Cordoba-trialogue on Jewish-Islam-Christian exchange.
For his work in scholarship and media on Islam and the West Prof. Tibi received the Bundesverdienstkreuz Erster Klasse from the former President of Germany Roman Herzog in 1995. This is the highest state decoration in the Federal Republic of Germany.
In 1997 he was named “Man of the Year” by the Biographical Institute (USA). In 2003 Prof. Tibi received the annual prize of the Swiss Foundation for European Awareness together with the Jewish scholar Michael Wolffsohn. This was an appreciation of their activities to promote European values. Prof. Tibi developed the concepts of “Leitkultur“ (Guiding Culture) and Euro-Islam. He co-founded as co-editor the journal Religion-Staat-Gesellschaft, Journal for the Study of Beliefs and Worldviews. Since its inception Prof. Tibi publishes as a columnist in the Financial Times Deutschland regularly.
Stories of Faith Limited is a Dublin-based Irish media fund and film production company. Together with its associated Limited Partnerships it offers a private equity investment opportunity in an international film and media project to qualified private and institutional investors.
