The new delta from HASE BIKES is the first trike ever approved for use with a retrofittable Steps e-bike system.

HASE BIKES swears by Shimano Steps. For its new TRIGO models, the company had its heart set on offering the mid-motor with its 500Wh battery as an accessory instead of a built-in feature. However, in order to earn official approval for using the motor as a retrofittable system, HASE BIKES had to satisfy numerous requirements and pass several tests.
Why? Because a motor transforms a bike or trike into a machine. Sound risky? It is. The vehicle has to work in perfect harmony with the drive system in order to ensure maximum safety, comfort, and component life. In addition, it must be possible to safely and easily retrofit the motor without damaging any parts.

If a layperson were to install an e-motor to a random bike or trike, so many things could go wrong. For example, it could alter the riding physics, reduce safety, or cause problems in the context of warranties, insurance, and roadside vehicle checks. With the TRIGO and TRIGO UP, the optional Steps motor is retrofitted exclusively by official HASE BIKES dealers who have undergone the required training. After the motor has been installed, the dealer performs functional checks, test rides the trike, and provides the customer with all important information. In other words, the combination of HASE BIKES dealer + Shimano Steps + TRIGO or TRIGO UP guarantees maximum safety.

The company’s overarching objective in its development of the TRIGO and TRIGO UP was to build a sporty delta worthy of the name HASE BIKES but significantly less expensive than previous models. After a whole lot of out-of-the-box thinking, the perfect solution was found: a one-size-fits-all model that, thanks to its modular design, can be easily adjusted to individual riders. Simply ingenious and ingeniously simple. For just under €2,000, you can now purchase a high-quality, hand-built German trike that is upgradable with a wide range of original HASE BIKES accessories, including the Shimano Steps!

The new model is available with either under-seat (TRIGO) or above-seat steering (TRIGO UP). With the under-seat handlebars, riders can enjoy a sportier, more laid-back position as they carve effortlessly through corners. However, others prefer the “Easy Rider” character and intuitive controls of the TRIGO UP, where they can steer, change gears, and brake just like on a “normal” upright bike. The two TRIGO models also have a lot in common: as delta trikes (one wheel in front and two in the rear) they are both extremely nimble and offer excellent stability.
Anyone who’s shopping for a new trike but can’t decide whether to invest in an e-motor can buy a TRIGO or TRIGO UP ... and then simply add the motor whenever they feel like it. Or need it. Or have enough money saved up. Otherwise, they can continue to enjoy the trike sans motor. After all, it’s just an option!
