A corporate fact sheet is a one-page document that gives the most important information about a company. You will find the corporate fact sheet on the website of nearly every major company in the world, and most smaller companies either already have one, or should think about creating one. But what is a corporate fact sheet and how do you know what to put in it? That’s what we’ll cover in this article, with an example corporate fact sheet below.

What is a Corporate Fact Sheet?

A corporate fact sheet is just that – a sheet that contains all of the relevant facts about a company. While it is called a “sheet” the fact is that many corporate fact sheets are more than one page. How long your corporate fact sheet will be depends upon how many facts you feel it is necessary to include.

You definitely want to check out other corporate fact sheets before you design one of your own. There are fact sheets on the websites of nearly every major corporation. But what goes into a corporate fact sheet?

What kind of things have to be included?

There are no hard and fast rules on what has to be included in a corporate fact sheet. It will depend upon what the goal of the fact sheet is. For example, if you are putting together a corporate fact sheet for the media to use if they write a story about your company, then you’ll want to include the facts that a reporter might need in order to portray your company accurately in a story. This may include facts and figures, your beliefs and values, or what specifically your company does and what products and services you offer.

On the other hand, if you are creating a fact sheet for investors then it is going to look much different. Investors need specific kinds of information. They usually don’t want to know the history of your company or the values that you hold. Investors want to know about your stock price, your growth, your market share and all of the other factors that will allow them to make a solid investment.

So, you have to know who you are creating your corporate fact sheet for before you begin. Once you have determined that, there are a few things to keep in mind as you begin creating:

  • Your corporate fact sheet should be full of facts, but presented in a pleasing manner and not stuffed into a page,
  • Your fact sheet should include colors and pictures like an infographic to make it as attractive as possible.
  • Your fact sheet should only include the most relevant information. You shouldn’t try to add extra information just to make your company seem more impressive or to make the fact sheet longer.
  • Your fact sheet should be easy to find from your corporate website, either as part of a drop-down menu or in the footer of the site.
  • If you are creating your fact sheet for the media, make sure to list who the contact person is within your organization that handles media inquiries.
  • Finally, make sure that you include your logo and any other company branding.

OUR HISTORY

At XYZ Corp, we got into widgets because we absolutely love them. We have widgets at home, our kids play with widgets and we believe that our widgets could change the world someday.

Our company began in 1967 when Samuel and Davis XYZ saw a need for widgets in many cities around the world. No one was using the proper widgets and these two visionaries saw how much life would be improved by the addition of widgets.

Samuel and David sold their antique lamps and got together enough money to open up the very first widget store. The product was so popular that they were able to open up a second location within just a year. They both sold so many widgets that they could see there was a huge demand for them, so they began expanding, setting up a central widget distribution center and  then opening a corporate headquarters with 30 stores all over the country just five years later.

OUR VALUES

We believe that honesty is the best policy and that transparency is how a widget company should be ran

We believe that our customers are our greatest assets and that our job is to provide them with the greatest widgets that the world has ever seen.

We believe in striving for greatness and improving our widgets with each passing year. We believe in world-class widget research and in doing studies to determine whether a widget truly is helpful.

We believe that customer service should always come first. That’s why we have a 24-hour-a-day customer service toll-free number. We also respond to emails quickly and have a great deal of information about widgets on our corporate website.
