ELSE Corp ready to SCALE, at Startup Bootcamp Amsterdam

Bringing unique value and positive social impact to the fashion retail industry, ELSE Corp was one of the seven Milanese start-ups selected by the Comune di Milano - the Municipality of Milan to participate in the Startup Bootcamp Amsterdam. Organised by the Comune di Milano along with Startup Amsterdam and with the support of the Dutch Consulate in Milan, it was a two-day intensive Soft-Landing programme in Amsterdam from the 12th to the 14th of December 2017 to introduce the most unique Milanese start-ups to the start-up ecosystem and digital manufacturing scene in Amsterdam & the Netherlands. The aim of the bootcamp was to provide the participating Milanese start-ups with useful information from experts, lead users and peers on a soft landing in Amsterdam and to give them information about how to practically expand and scale their business in the Dutch market.

Startup City Alliance Europe (SCALE), an initiative by StartupAmsterdam, is a project that allows young companies to broaden their horizons of growth, tackling the most active and responsive to market innovations and new forms of creativity. It is an important step towards creating a connected European city-to-city start-up ecosystem. It is an attempt to seek a closer cooperation of European tech cities and strengthen a more connected European start-up ecosystem. SCALE is now comprised of and unites 20 passionate European start-up organizations, for the benefit of start-ups in Europe that are wanting to scale into new markets. By meeting frequently, sharing best practices, and discussing current issues in the tech world, SCALE strives to create a truly united European city-to-city start-up ecosystem, develop it and connect it.

Amsterdam, like Milan, is an economic and financial capital with a large international community, and thanks to the local administrations in both cities, they have found a find a fitting and necessary point of contact to promote the economic and social development of the two metropolises and their young entrepreneurs.

The bootcamp was a valuable opportunity for ELSE Corp as it was a chance to meet the Dutch entrepreneurial community, as well as stakeholders, investors and potential customers. The start-up came away from the experience highly satisfied and thankful to the Comune di Milano for this chance and are ready to grow further, incorporating their newly acquired knowledge and of course to do their part towards the development of this city-to-city European start-up ecosystem!
