Shepherd's Center of Northern Virginia 2024 Grantee of the Community Foundation of Northern Virginia

Tuesday, April 23, 2024, The Shepherd's Center of Northern Virginia (SCNOVA) is thrilled to announce that our non-profit organization has been selected as a 2024 Grantee from the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia. It is an honor to be selected from a competitive field of so many commendable organizations. We look forward to utilizing this grant to expand our efforts to provide critical safety net services for older adults in the communities we serve.

The Community Foundation has long been recognized as a community pillar to advance equity throughout the region. The foundation is a source of strategic research and insight that guides the funding and support of many of its philanthropic efforts including aging, arts, child and youth development, education, environment, intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, military personnel and families, and safety net support.

"This funding will enable SCNOVA to reach more older adults with free medical and non-medical transportation needs and expand our community outreach and awareness to invite new clients and volunteers into our program. For 26 years, SCNOVA has been instrumental in impacting the communities in which we live and work for the better." says Executive Director, Carolyn Pennington. This recognition highlights the many years of dedicated effort on behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and supporters.
