Authentify Art Appoints Laura Ballman as Co-CEO to Spearhead Strategic Initiatives and Fundraising
Laura Ballman, co-CEO of Authentify Art
Laura brings over a decade of fervent dedication to advancing technology in the art sector. Her extensive experience includes leadership roles at Capital Art Strategies, where she provided strategic and operational services to prominent clients such as The Cohen Group, the U.S. Arts in Embassies program, a private collection, and an art-secured financial lender startup.
Prior to her role at Authentify Art, Laura served as the head of U.S. Art and Finance for Deloitte, driving business development across Consulting, Risk Advisory, and Tax practices. Notably, she led the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Art Crime Team's intelligence division from 2013 to 2016, contributing to successful investigations into forgeries, theft, antiquities trafficking, and more.
Laura's diverse background encompasses her roles as Director of Counterintelligence for the Department of Energy and the National Laboratories Complex, a CIA clandestine operations officer, and a journalist for major media outlets.
In addition to her corporate roles, Laura is an active board member of The Long Run Foundation, contributing to its mission of providing micro-grants to artists facing adversity. She is also part of the Meridian International Center's cultural diplomacy council.
Laura's academic credentials include a master's degree in art business from Sotheby's Institute of Art, a master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Minnesota.
