Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with an Israeli Twist

Houston, TX - September 18, 2023 - The Consulate General of Israel to the Southwest is thrilled to announce a culinary extravaganza like no other, as it celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Sabor a Shalom: Fusion Cuisine. This innovative event will showcase the rich tapestry of flavors where Israeli and Latino cuisines unite.

Collaborating with the esteemed James Beard Award-winning chef Hugo Ortega of H Town Restaurant Group and Israeli Chef Yotam Dolev from Hamsa and Doris Metropolitan restaurants, Sabor a Shalom: Fusion Cuisine will be a gastronomic celebration of diverse tastes and cultural connections. While the cuisines of Israel and Latin America might seem different, upon closer examination several intriguing similarities emerge in terms of ingredients, techniques, and shared historical influences on cooking methods.
