Momentive Performance Materials today announced that the President & CEO, Europe, Middle East, and Africa region, Dr. Ian R. Moore will brief industry leaders and the media on Momentive’s commitment to customer’s growth, innovation, and company-wide values, followed by a Q&A session.

The goal of the briefing is to begin a new dialogue with industry leaders and journalists on the investments and values Momentive now provides to its customers, how we the company will be participating at the K Show and plans with the Rubber and Plastics Industry.

The time is now for Momentive

According to Moore, “The time is now for Momentive to give a clear vision about its mission to provide customers with continuously more efficient, more innovative products with the strongest technical know-how in the industry.” It has been approximately one year since Momentive became a stand alone business under the new ownership of Apollo Management L.P., a highly successful private equity company with a broad chemical company portfolio, and after the sale of GE Advanced Materials and its Joint Ventures GE Bayer Silicones and GE Toshiba Silicones.

Total Customer Satisfaction and Continuously Improvements

Ian Moore highlighted that the company’s product policy details our commitment to total customer satisfaction by continuously improving the Quality, Speed and Responsiveness of all our business processes. Our goal is to deliver premium value products, in conformance to customer specifications, on time, with superior technical service.

The Science Behind The Solution for the Plastics and Rubber industry
The innovative and multifunctional silicone solutions and the strong customer focus for the Plastics and Rubber Industry were clearly shown on the exhibition stand with samples from the Ariane Booster Rocket, the hardcoating for the smart fortwo roof and the Honda Civic Spoiler. Momentive’s exhibition booth also included several other examples along with an innovative customer’s engine from a well-known company, Engel Machinery, that was placed on the stand and demonstrated highly pure manufactured Silicones materials.

As companies in the Rubber and Plastics industry face pressure to do more with less, Momentive has responded by developing a number of solutions for this industry that are used by a variety of Business to Business and Business to Consumer brands.

By providing multi-functional solutions rather than narrowly focused products, we are helping to make it easier for plastics and rubber formulators to streamline their production processes while still delivering significant advances in performance.

Momentive Performance Materials will continuously demonstrate and realize “The science behind the solutions.”

Momentive Performance Materials – Business Overview

Momentive Performance Materials was created from the sale of GE Advanced Materials and its former Joint Ventures GE Bayer Silicones and GE Toshiba Silicones to Apollo Management, L.P. in December 2006. Momentive is the world’s second-largest producer of silicones and silicone derivatives and a global leader in the development and manufacture of products derived from quartz and advanced ceramics. Silicones are a multi-functional family of materials used in thousands of products and serve as a critical ingredient in many construction, transportation, personal care, electronic, consumer and agricultural uses.

Silicones are generally used as an additive to a wide variety of end-use products in order to provide or enhance certain of their attributes, such as resistance (heat, ultraviolet light and chemical), lubrication, adhesion or viscosity. Some of the most well-known end-use product applications include bath and shower caulk, pressure sensitive adhesive labels, foam products, cosmetics and tires. Our Quartz division manufactures quartz, specialty ceramics and crystal products for use in a number of high-technology industries, which typically require products made to precise specifications.

These materials solutions are used as springboards for innovation in hundreds of consumer and industrial applications ranging from car engines to biomedical devices to integrated circuits. Industries served include aerospace, agriculture, appliances, automotive, construction, electronics, furniture and furnishings, healthcare, home care, industrial, lighting, packaging, personal care, plastics, semiconductor, telecommunications, tire, transportation, and water purification.
