SGS’s Valve and Instrumentation Calibration and Maintenance Services Help Braskem to Expand Petrochemical Plants in Brazil

On June 1, SGS won a contract to provide Braskem, one of the world’s largest petrochemical companies, with electrical and instrumentation maintenance, calibration of valves, and maintenance shutdowns in order to enable the company to expand its operations in southern Brazil.

SGS has worked with Braskem for over 10 years, supplying a range of maintenance services for their petrochemical plants in Brazil. Due to the success of the ongoing collaboration, Braskem looked to continue the relationship, contracting SGS’s proven maintenance expertise, qualified team, and specialized equipment during their expansion program.

Throughout this latest contract, a team of 40 highly skilled SGS experts will work on site, carrying out shutdown maintenance for the company’s UNIB3 plant. The operation will see the team conduct instrumentation maintenance and calibration of pressure safety valves, performing 38 technical instrumentations over 39 days. Furthermore, SGS will carry out electrical maintenance during the contract.

Having previously engaged SGS to deliver maintenance services on similar projects in the region, this new contract endorses the company’s reputation for quality, excellence and consistency.
