Big Bad Boo Strikes Deal with Mediacorp Singapore for "Galapagos X"
Created by Shabnam Rezaei, the Galapagos X is currently in production at Big Bad Boo Studios with commissioning broadcasters TVOKids, SRC Radio-Canada, Knowledge Kids, and TFO. Additional partners Shaw Rocket Fund and the Canadian Media Fund are also part of the financing. The current season is for 26 X 11-minute episodes, targeting an audience of 6-to-11-year-olds. The Mediacorp deal also includes rights for Mediacorp to be the sole distributor of Galapagos X in more than 20 Asian territories.
"Galapagos X is a global series that deserves international partners who can bring the positive messages of preserving our planet to every kid. With Mediacorp now on board as our partner, we will ensure a wide reach," said Shabnam Rezaei, co-founder of Big Bad Boo Studios.
Galapagos X sees four explorers from the future and their blue-footed bird as they set off t prevent future environmental problems from happening, by finding the source in the present day. Set to air in 2023, Galapagos X will be trekking new territory- both literally and figuratively- as Big Bad Boo is developing an interactive virtual reality component that sees its audience explore different ecosystems in addition to creating a traditional television series and digital storybook.

Featuring Odd Squad's Millie Davis as the lead character Orchid, Gavin MacIver-Wright as young Quinn Crock, and Riverdale's Nathalie Boltt as the power-hungry social media mogul Doc Crock, Galapagos X features notable and extremely talented actors whose experience range from live action films and series to theatre.
