Quantum Training for Theatre - the international qualification

In October 2022, a new online qualification programme of the World Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT - Research Centre of the International Theatre Institute ITI - will be launched. Quantum Training for Theatre is primarily aimed at drama teachers and educators who act as multipliers and are particularly concerned with methodological issues.
For actors and directors, it directly opens up new approaches for their artistic practice.

The World Theatre Training Institute (WTTI) has the freedom and flexibility to always offer educational programmes that are relevant to the pulse of time. The decisive factor in principle for the teaching is that it reflects the changes in society; as part of this, however, it should not only impart the stage formats that are currently in vogue, but should also drive the renewal of the performing arts and begin research for the theatre of tomorrow.
This is where artistic director Dr Jurij Alschitz comes in, combining scientific findings from quantum mechanics, wave and resonance theory with his more than 40 years of practice in teaching drama; with the result that students develop a holistic view of theatre beyond dogmatic methods:

"An actor's and director's knowledge and skill expand by discovering new connections, new energies, penetrating the spaces of macro and microcosms. Our innovations in the profession depend on it. Without penetrating there, we can no longer develop our knowledge and our skill. However, it is impossible to penetrate there as long as we remain in that state of consciousness and thinking that asserts that all reality is reduced to matter and its interactions. In other words. It is impossible to penetrate there without accepting the ideas of quantum physics, on the basis of which I got the idea of quantum pedagogy for theatre."

It is this core statement on which the new form of teaching and learning is based, which addresses both philosophical dimensions and imparts craft skills.
In 22 weekly online meetings, participants receive in-depth training in theory and practice that makes them masters of their profession.

The full autumn programme of the Online Theatre Academy includes further courses in acting and directing.
