Medicare Insurance Agent Online Directory Prepares For Annual Enrollment

Find Best Medicare insurance agents using free online directory hosted by AAMSI

Millions of Americans will take advantage of the upcoming Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) to find better Medicare coverage.

"Medicare plan sellers are spending millions of dollars on television ads featuring celebrities but they are not necessarily directing seniors to the best plan choices," says Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance.

According to Slome, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported receiving so many consumer complaints that new regulations are being imposed on call centers and independent agents selling various Medicare solutions.

"Medicare is a great program and people benefit from the many available options," Slome notes. "Depending on where you live there can be 7 different Medicare Advantage plans, 10 different Medicare Supplement plans and over 100 different insurance companies who are competing for your business. People understandably are confused."

In preparation of Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period which begins October 5, the Association is undertaking an effort to increase awareness for the organization's online directory listing local Medicare insurance agents. "Medicare plan choices can vary based on where you live," Slome notes. "Your best resource for local insights can be a Medicare agent who lives and works specifically in your town or city."

Traffic to the Association's website has increased 13.5 percent compared to last year according to Association data. "We know that over 90 percent of visitors are consumers accessing the Association's directory seeking a local Medicare insurance agent," Slome confirms. "We are focused on seeing that rise in anticipation of this year's AEP season."

The organization's online directory is the leading national third-party resource listing agents offering Medicare Supplement as well as Medicare Advantage plans.

To find Medicare insurance agents in your area, access the directory at https://www.medicaresupp.org/find-local-agent/. Access is free and completely private.
