Guide-led walking safari

**Plan a small group safari in exclusive isolation across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia with sixteen luxurious safari camps**

(Cape Town) - It may be a while before safari travel gets back to its pre-pandemic pace in Africa, but the wilderness of the bush remains as untamed and beautiful as ever. African Bush Camps (ABC) is inviting families and group travelers to experience authentic safari adventures in a travel bubble with exclusive buyouts for each of the company’s 16 bush camps across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.

Imagine you and your fellow travelers surrounded by Zambia’s Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, a short distance from the Victoria Falls, with a buyout of Thorntree River Lodge. The lodge includes modern accommodation inspired by local customs and culture with eight standard suites and two family suites of contemporary design situated along the edge of the Zambezi River. Or relaxing along the banks of a lagoon that flows into the Khwai River at Khwai Tented Camp in Botswana. The camp includes six Meru-style tents that are built on raised decking with 180-degree views of the bush. Or indulging in an “armchair safari” beneath the shade of a mahogany tree at Kanga Camp in the most remote part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mana Pools National Park, in Zimbabwe. There are six Meru-style tents and a Honeymoon and Family Tent to go around.

Then there’s Khwai Leadwood, ABC’s newest destination, opening in September 2020 along the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta of Botswana. It has a capacity for 16 guests in modern tents designed for comfort. Contemporary amenities include indoor/outdoor showers, and wooden decks wrapped around each tent offer the perfect vantage for wildlife spotting.

Available now, as well as for future travel, buyouts offer everything guests look forward to on a safari. From game drives, guide-led walking safaris, birding outings, mokoro (dugout canoe) trips, to cultural visits that underline the operator’s strong dedication to sustainability, empowerment and education of local communities. And, travelers will have all of it to themselves.

A buyout of multiple ABC destinations is another appealing option, with travelers able to occupy two or more camps in succession and connect to each via private charter flights to minimize and even eliminate contact with other travelers. Whatever the destination, trust that ABC staff adhere to the strict bio security protocols issued by the World Health Organization as well as country-specific requirements. For a detailed overview of all of ABC’s preventative measures, visit here.

With 16 African Bush Camp destinations to choose from, there are many options for buyouts. Depending on the season and specific rates, a dual buyout of, say, Khwai Leadwood and Linyanti Bush Camp in the Chobe Enclave of Botswana’s Chobe National Park for a group of 10 travelers can include:

• Exclusive use of camps
• Shared flights between camps
• Dedicated camp guides for the group

Sample itinerary:
• Day 1: Fly from Maun to Khwai Leadwood for 4 nights
• Day 5: Fly from Khwai Leadwood to Linyanti Bush Camp for 3 nights
• Day 8: Fly from Linyanti Bush Camp to Maun for departure

Cost per person, based on 10 adults sharing starting at USD $3,880

“There is so much adventure and plenty of space to go around in the African bush, we want group travelers to know that a buyout is a great way for them to experience it safely and at great rates, with all of the exquisite comforts and authentic adventures that our team works so hard to provide,” said Beks Ndlovu, Founder and CEO of African Bush Camps.

African Bush Camps (ABC) is a 100% owner-run, African-based safari company designed to delight adventure travelers with authentic safari experiences amid untamed wilderness across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. Operations are always focused on the guests, with 15 luxury tented bush camps and lodges, offering seamless safari experiences with internal flights, food, drinks, and activities included. African Bush Camps promotes and influences travel to Africa on a global scale while operating with a strong focus on conservation, and an environmentally sustainable footprint that celebrates the culture of communities in the areas in which it operates.

The African Bush Camps Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on conservation, education, and empowerment for the communities that surround the company’s camp locations. Launched in 2006, the Foundation operates through a multi-faceted partnership with the company, which donates $10 to the Foundation for every bed night accommodated in each of its camps. All donations go directly to community-based development projects initiated by the Foundation. Since opening, the Foundation has spearheaded 72 community projects across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia; 42 of those projects are currently in operation under the Foundation’s wing.

African Bush Camps was founded in 2006 by Beks Ndlovu, a professional safari guide born and raised in the village of Lupane on the outskirts of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. From the start of operations, Ndlovu’s mission has been to operate a portfolio of luxury tented camps and lodges across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia that reincarnate the fantasy of ‘Old Untouched Africa,’ while treating guests to authentic and adventurous professional guide-led experiences and bespoke safaris that can only be found in the bush.
