Strikes Against Cancer, the idea of 11-year-old Geordon Cox to honor his mother and her ongoing battle with cancer, has over 171 teams registered to play in the Inaugural Tournament at TCA in McKinney, Texas and 7 other facilities communitywide on May 13th, 14th and 15th. www.strikesagainstcancer.org.
"I wanted to give my mother a Christmas present that would last forever and also help all moms fighting cancer,” said 11-year-old Geordon Cox, Pitcher of the 11U AAA McKinney Mongrels. Now, over 171 North Texas select baseball teams have rallied to support Geordon in the Inaugural Strikes Against Cancer Tournament to be held at the Triple Creek Academy, various fields in McKinney, and fields in Celina, Little Elm, and Plano on May 13th, 14th and 15th.
McKinney Mongrels 11U Head Coach Phil Taylor will give Geordon the ball to take the mound in their first pool game at TCA, on Field 2, at 10:00 AM on Saturday May 14th.
TCA owner and ex-Major League Pitcher, Ross Powell, has donated free pitching lessons to Geordon every week since the off-season to ensure his success on the mound. To support Geordon’s mother 3-year battle with cancer Ross suggested hosting a tournament in honor of his foundation Strikes Against Cancer.

All funds for trademark and website have been donated by gracious contributors to support Geordon and his quest to defeat cancer one strike at a time.
