Celebrities Dish about Arizona Food
Fill Your Plate’s December Celebrity Profile is Local Media Celebrity Jan D’AtriPhoenix, Arizona, December 1, 2010 – Arizona Farm Bureau recently re-launched its Fill Your Plate website as part of its ongoing commitment to preserving and promoting the Arizona agriculture industry and helping Arizonans connect to our state’s farmers and ranchers. Additionally, Fill Your Plate’s new Celebrity Q&A section featuring Jan D’Atri this month highlights local celebrities and Arizona celebrity chefs talking about great food and first-class cooking tips.
“Arizona agriculture is a $10.3 billion industry, according to recent research conducted by the University of Arizona,” says Julie Murphree, spokesperson for the Arizona Farm Bureau. “The updated site will help us share with Arizonans and the nation what a treasure trove of Arizona agriculture we have and learn exactly where and how they can experience it.”
The site, www.fillyourplate.org, features a comprehensive Arizona Farmers’ Market listing, an “Arizona Produce in Season” section (new), and recipes contributed by Arizona farmers and ranchers and inspired by our wonderfully abundant Arizona food. The site’s core feature is its “Find a Farm Product” where Arizona chefs and consumers can select from a drop-down menu a product they are looking for and be directed to an Arizona farm or rancher that grows and sell it.
“Our searchable online directory of more than 150 farmers and ranchers is the most helpful aspect of Fill Your Plate,” explains Murphree. “Chefs can source the database to get ideas for fresh, local product when planning new menus. Arizonans can source for agriculture product to be inspired to add a new and different food item to their food shopping plans. It’s a great way to discover the diversity and abundance of Arizona agriculture.”
The website added the “Celebrity Q&A” to highlight well-known Arizonans love of great food. Arizona Farm Bureau will monthly interview local celebrities about their favorite Arizona foods or chat with local celebrity chefs about cooking, food, menus and much more!
