Kassel / Germany. The Aupair World Team is physically at the top for the greatest charity walk worldwide. However, this alone does not suffice to be allowed at the start of the Oxfam Trailwalker Germany, which will take place in the Harz mountains this September. Each team needs to raise a fund of 2,000 euros for Oxfam prior to the event. The donation of 2,000 euros made by a.n.d., the operating company of Aupair World, secures participation for the ¨Aupair World - Silly Walkers¨ on 7 and 8 September.

"It's a great feeling to know that we will be allowed at the start"

"We are truly glad about the fact that our employer has been supporting and sponsoring us throughout this project", Chantal Quassolo from the team ¨Aupair World – Silly Walkers¨ rejoices. Marius Kunze, her team colleague, adds: "It is great to know that we will now truly be allowed at the start". Hiking 100 kilometres in 30 hours for the good cause – the team has been training for this event throughout the past few months. However, the focus has not only been on training, but also on fundraising.

Interim result: 3,240 euros for a just world without poverty

Our private sponsors have already donated more than one thousand euros. Furthermore, the international team whipped up its most delicious cakes for a bake sale in Kassel. Together with its employer's donation, 3,240 euros could be raised so far. The money will be donated to Oxfam. The organisation will use it for relief projects for girls and women worldwide. Therefore, the ¨Aupair World - Silly Walkers¨ will be participating along the lines ¨We 'd go miles for women's rights.¨

In 2012, social commitment goes hand in hand with physical performance for Aupair World

Aupair World has frequently donated for social projects worldwide: in 2010 for a relief project in Haiti and another one in Pakistan, and in 2011 for the aid to refugees in East Africa. This time, social engagement goes hand in hand with physical fitness. Naturally, donations are still more than welcome.

About the Oxfam Trailwalker
The Oxfam Trailwalker is the worlwide greatest charity walk for international educational projects organised by the independent aid and development organisation Oxfam. Oxfam provides emergency relief in crisis situations and supports people in poor countries. By organising the Oxfam Trailwalker, the organisation wishes to set an example: every participant commits to a just world without poverty. Thus, the 100 kilometre walk through the Harz mountains is a physical challenge, a team event and a charity walk at the same time – and, according to the organiser, ¨the most exciting trekking tour in the world¨! It will take place on 8 and 9 September 2012, for the third time, starting from Osterode in the Harz mountains. Donations are always invested in charitable projects: This year, they will be used for projects supporting girls and women in South Africa, Benin, Congo, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
